Flying Kites Leadership Academy, Kenya

Flying Kites Leadership Academy, Kenya

In 2007, I co-founded Flying Kites, a children's home and school for orphaned and abandoned children.

Through an emphasis on exemplary care, education, and compassion, children who have suffered the devastating effects of poverty are being empowered to change the world.

#BelieveWithUs

A place for children to be children

A place for children to be children

First and foremost, we wanted to ensure that children who had suffered the most difficult start in life were able to regain their childhood.

We bought land in Njabini, a small town that sits at the edge of the Aberdare National Park. It is a wonderful environment to grow up in: trees to climb, rivers to swim, and plentiful fresh food from the community or from the Flying Kites farm.

Flying Kites currently cares for 37 children. It manages a primary school onsite, with secondary school children attending local private schools. In recent nationwide testing all Flying Kites primary school years came either 1st or 2nd in the district.
